Puzzle Piece Princess - Supporting Girls with Autism
If you have ever read or heard statistics on autism, they usually start with the CDC statistic of "One is 110 children are diagnosed with autism". This statistic is typically followed by, "One in 70 boys is diagnosed with autism." or "The rate of autism in boys is three to four times higher than in girls." To some, autism is a boy's disorder...unless you have a girl living with ASD. I happen to have two.

Since their diagnosis, I have realized that there are not too many statistics, services, or resources for girls with ASD. Having two girls, it is intimidating to go to workshops, on line, or even the classroom, and see how virtually all research is geared towards boys and men living with ASD. I wanted to start a place where parents, girls, and women living with ASD can come and share their experiences and give those of us new to the diagnosis some insight, information, and hope.

Since the day of their diagnosis, I have spent every moment working towards bettering the lives of my girls. Now, it is my turn to work to help others. Puzzle Piece Princess is working towards providing girls and their families with services, products, and assistance that will better their lives. One hundred percent of every donation and item purchased from our site will go towards this goal.
Let's work together to help girls in the autism community!
